Roofing

Signs it may be time to replace your roof

A roof protects more than shingles. Flashing, drainage, ventilation, decking, and the way details meet walls and penetrations all affect performance. Catching problems early can help prevent interior damage.

Watch for water where it does not belong

Ceiling stains, attic moisture, wet insulation, peeling paint, or drips during a storm should be addressed promptly. The visible stain may not be directly below the roof entry point.

Look for aging or damaged materials

Missing, curled, cracked, or heavily worn shingles can signal that repair or replacement should be evaluated. Damage near flashing, valleys, vents, and edges deserves particular attention.

Do not ignore gutters and drainage

Overflowing gutters, loose downspouts, or water collecting near the foundation can affect the exterior system. Roofing, siding, and gutters should work together to move water away from the house.

Get a project-specific review

Roof condition, existing layers, sheathing, ventilation, access, and local requirements all matter. A site review is the reliable way to determine whether a focused repair or a full replacement makes sense.
